Our Story

I am Carline and I founded Marabou International in 2014 in my native city, Carrefour, Haiti. I am a chemist, certified hair loss specialist, and currently attending medical school at Wayne State University School of medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Ever since my transition to embracing my natural curls, I have struggled to find products my hair could thrive on without compromising my health. I realized I was not unique and many women in my community faced the same challenges during their natural hair transition. I was inspired to use my knowledge and skills as a scientist, coupled with my grandmother's teachings on traditional Haitian oil-making, and through it, have been able to help not only myself, but the women throughout my community.  In doing so, my team has been able to support the Haiti economy by employing women farmers and helping thousands of women regain their confidence. After 8 successful years working with helping Haitian women to take care of their luxurious mane, I am confident that I can also serve the women in my community here in Detroit, Michigan.  My goal is to partner with women who need guidance navigating their hair care routine and actively support the revitalization needs of Detroit.
